New king! New king!
So today we have an incredibly laid back, toilet-throwing king and a beautiful beautiful new queen of the Netherlands: King Willem-Alexandar and Queen Máxima.
Ofcourse it is all quite a show and everybody knows how a constitutional monarchy goes with the real power not really resting on the shoulders of the king anymore. But what a day it must be, April 30, for everybody in the Netherlands.

I will maintain
“Je maintiendrai”
I’d honestly never really noticed this phrase before.
Probably because I could never ever get over properly pronouncing “paspoort” or better yet “Koninkrijk der Nederlanden”. My eyesight goes all fuzzy trying to deciphere that kind of code.
But I saw the phrase “Je maintiendrai” in big bold letters at the Dutch embassy...

Yeshi and Tashi chasing down the turkey.
Sorry every single turkey in this clip came out a bit blurry in here. Need to protect their identities (security-protocol dictates).
Happy thank you day!
* Music in the first few seconds is there because behind me is the (unseen) open-air stage where Acel was invited to sing at.
Yeshi and Tashi venturing off in the mall on their own.
and here’s Yeshi and Tashi in one of their many adventures through the jungles of Kamagong.
This was Yeshi last year at Alnwick Castle near the borders of Scotland.
YESHI. The mighty.
YESHI MATTHIAS - The wise one. Gift of God.
Today is NOVEMBER 19 and today, Yeshi is a proud 2 year-old!!!
He shares his birthday day with the 46th anniversary of his lolo and lola giving us a double reason to celebrate.
He’s the second born — just like me. (Tashi is the first-born son, also, just like me).
He looks like Bruce Lee and he has the strength to prove it.
Yeshi is...
30 on 11-11. My fool's day.
I just had the most beautiful last night of being 29 with my 4-year old, Tashi. He got me a bag of candy as his “surprise” for my birthday (with me paying ofcourse — as well as for that other bag he wanted).
It was pretty timely that Tashi and I randomly watched Wreck-It-Ralph too. Boy what a tear-jerker (eye sweating) movie that was.
What a mix of candy and 30 years. If...
Flowers for mommy (while she’s on stage). This was yesterday afternoon in Mariveles, Bataan.

This is Tashi playing impressive ping-pong with Tashi’s auntie Becky (my sister).
Yeshi is also in the video twirling in the background. Acel is in there too.
Becky is Paperboat London.
It was so refreshing having her visit us here in the Philippines. She dropped by for a few weeks working with the Dutch NoaPoa family in not-so-far-off Bali, Indonesia.
Becky got into a motorbike...

Manila floods. Yeshi kissed a dog (lips to lips)
Just a quick update from our side of the world in case you are wondering how we are doing.
It is flood season (again). But we just want to let you all know that we are well. The most dramatic thing that has happened in my opinion is that Yeshi kissed a dog (lips to lips!!!). Truth be told, Choco smells better than Yeshi sometimes.
Kidding aside:
We are staying at our friend Larry...

Tashi. One. Two. Three. Four.
We celebrated Tashi’s fourth birthday last Tuesday at the airplane museum in the afternoon and dinner with family friends at home in the evening.
Tashi is so very much into airplanes these days. Going aroun that airplane museum was a dream for him.
Acel & I also just realized that Tashi shares the same birthday with aviation icon Amelia Earhart (also born on July 24th).

Always loyal. Always faithful.
That’s Marc in the middle. He’s in the army! Leandro’s there on the right. It was such a joy and privilege to serve as witness and best man to my brave old friend Marc Cruz at his wedding to Pau yesterday. Thanks to Mish for the photo, and before I forget, that’s little Yeshi holding my hand there.
As the best-man, this was my speech that I nervously read out aloud...

Being a dad, it's all worth it.
This is my Yeshi boy and that’s my Tashi boy. I’m there daddy. YES! It’s all worth it.
Yesterday was father’s day. This is the day, much like any other typical Filipino birthday, where there are loads and loads of greeters and loads and loads of eaters and at the end of the party the celebrant foots the bill.
Yes, it’s true. That’s culture : )

8 years
Today marks eight (8) full years with Acel. On the 15th of May, 2004, Acel and I kissed (for the first time) as we exchanged our “I do”s” before God, our families, our pastor and over two hundred friends in a little garden in the other side of the city.
Today, we have 2 boys, Yeshi (aged 1) and Tashi (aged 3).
A lot has happened over the last eight years. We’ve had great...
